Using an interactive case-study approach, attendees will be invited to evaluate key decision points and share their perspectives as the claim unfolds. The presentation will explore how the rights granted to a surety under the indemnity agreement serve as practical tools for managing risk, resolving claims efficiently, and minimizing loss. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how cooperation between the customer and the surety, supported by contractual rights, can lead to more effective outcomes for all parties involved.

We are thrilled to feature Melissa Lee, Vice President, Surety Risk Solutions from Zurich North America. Prior to joining Zurich, Ms. Lee spent 15 years as outside counsel at the law firm of Manier & Herod in Nashville, TN. During her time in private practice, Ms. Lee represented clients with respect to every aspect of surety law, including takeovers and relets, bond claim analysis, bankruptcy matters and litigation in various courts in the Southeast. Ms. Lee has the unique perspective of having been both a litigator and a transactional attorney, with experience in the courtroom and large-scale workouts.
